Anyone who knows me well knows that I’m a planner. I like to have all my steps ordered and laid out far FAR in advance. When things don’t work out how I pictured, I often get frustrated because it wasn’t in my “plan.” But God doesn’t work on our time table. He has been revealing to me how much control I need to let go of in order to rest in His will, and fully trust Him to lead me in the right direction.
My plans are so limited compared to His ways. God doesn’t operate on our time table, and just laughs when we try to make every aspect of our life perfect. His job is to guide us in the direction of His will, and our job is to let him.
Letting God lead…what an incredibly scary, yet freeing thought. How wonderful to be so loved by the Father, that he comes alongside us, tugs our hand and pulls us where we need to go. We can lay down our fears or burdens, step back, and let Him lead.
I’m going to choose to relax in His ways, and put down my planner for a while. Only God knows what lies before us, and He works so much mightier when we are willing to be pliable. Our job is to read His word, pray, and love Him wholeheartedly. It’s about time I stop doing God’s job for him, and letting His perfect will be sufficient.
