My team hasn’t even made it to Kenya yet, and already God is teaching me so much about a virtue I struggle so much with: patience.
Currently, we are sitting on a plane stuck at JFK because there was a problem with our tire. Therefore, our first 8 hour flight had turned into a 9 hour ordeal. Previously, we were stuck in a stopped airport security line waiting for some women to drink a water bottle she had kept in her carry on luggage. A baby was wailing on a small aircraft. And yet, I am smiling.
God works in crazy ways, because last night as one of my New Year’s resolutions, I decided to work on being patient. Though travel is always stressful, and this journey has some road bumps, God is so faithful.
He uses seemingly minute frustrations to bring His plans into completion. He allows obstacles to teach His children how to obey, and listen to His still small voice.
Already I am so thankful for this experience, because just traveling with a group of strangers who all strive to bring Jesus glory has been so enriching. It has been one of the most teachable moments of my entire life. I have made incredible friends and felt God’s presence among our team. I have laughed with joy pulsing through my bones. I have felt Divine peace.
Truly overwhelmed by God’s goodness, and looking forward to turning impatient moments into Spirit-filled lessons. Praying for a calm heart and a smooth journey ahead.
