For my 21st birthday, I decided to go to my favorite city and have a girl’s weekend! It was so much fun to get away and escape into the hustle and bustle of New York City life. Instead of staying in Manhattan, we found an adorable little Airbnb in Park Slope, Brooklyn that allowed us to see parts of Brooklyn for the first time and have an affordable stay. If you’re headed to Manhattan definitely check out the Airbnb rates in Brooklyn or New Jersey-the places are nice, spacious, and cheap.
There are a few “firsts” from this trip that I’m excited to share with y’all!
The Milk Bar: an incredibly cute little cafe in Brooklyn that offered hands down the BEST avocado toast I have ever had
Exploring Brooklyn: I’m so glad we took some time to explore different neighborhoods in Brooklyn! It was so fun to see the different personalities of the neighborhoods.
Rosemary’s: We wanted a rooftop restaurant but it was raining all day, so we decided to go to a quaint little Italian place in the West Village. This restaurant reminded me so much of Italy! From the Italian music, amicable waiters, and atmosphere; it was the perfect dinner spot.
Brooklyn Bridge Park: While Steph was at work, Natalie and I spent a lot of time taking pictures and admiring the view at the park. This was one of the highlights of the trip for me-I can’t believe I had never been here before! This was amazing. The views were incredible, offering great backgrounds for pictures, restaurants, and boating excursions. You must take the time to go here in NYC!
The Egg Shop: I’ve been dying to eat here for the past year. It met all of my expectations. Foodie heaven!! I ordered the Eggshop B.E.C.
Little Cupcake Bakeshop: While shopping in the Village, we came across this little bakery served so many gluten free (and regular) goodies! It was PACKED so we had to stop by and try the treats. We tried the gluten free chocolate chip cookie, gf cupcake, and the fruity pebble rice krispy treat. SO GOOD!
By Chloe: This is one of my favorite places in the city!! The entire menu is vegan, and I crave the quinoa taco salad and macaroni (pictured here) on a weekly basis!
Shake Shack: This place. The best burgers and fries in the United States. Hands down. Sorry In-N-Out!
The weekend was a blast, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to go explore this incredible city! To see more places I recommend in NYC, check out my other posts from my month in New York City this summer.
